Within Temptation Post New Track, “Entertain You”

0

The verse of Within Temptation’s new song, “Entertain You,” really reminds me of Gotye’s smash hit, “Somebody That I Used to Know.” Take this as a compliment, because I loved the shit out of that song! Something about the vocal melody and the backbeat here are eerily similar to Kimbra’s delivery in the chorus of that 2012 pop delight. The chorus of “Entertain You” is much heavier — in line with what you’d expect from the band — so don’t worry, Within Temptation fans, the band hasn’t gone full pop.

Vocalist Sharon den Adel explains of the new track:

“We often cannot and do not want to see the consequences of our urge to satisfy our personal needs. To justify or simply avoid the misery we inflict on others, we simply look the other way or start pointing fingers. We should look into the mirror more often and start questioning our own beliefs. We should try to understand not only ourselves but also, and most importantly, the others and the world around us. It’s not the easiest way, but it’s certainly one that brings us further in this individualistic society.”

Stream “Entertain You” below or grab it here on a variety of platforms. The band hasn’t announced a new album as of yet.

Within Temptation have a tour of Europe and the U.K. with Evanescence lined up for September, rescheduled from its original run in April, but it seems likely the new dates will pulled down as well. Keep up to date with the latest tour news here.
