Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt Will Score Jonas Åkerlund’s New Netflix Series

Jonas Åkerlund, the former Bathory drummer turned director of the Lords of Chaos movie and multiple Metallica videos (amongst many other credits), has a new project in the works. It’s called Clark, and it’s a six-part Netflix miniseries that will tell “the true story behind Sweden’s most notorious gangster, Clark Olofsson, whose infamous crimes gave rise to the term ‘Stockholm syndrome.’”

The series will star It‘s Bill Skarsgård in the title role… but much more excitingly, according to a press release from Netflix, Opeth’s Mikael Åkerfeldt is set to compose the score.

Unfortunately, that’s all we know right now; the press release doesn’t say when we can expect Clark to debut. But with most film and television productions currently shut down due to you-know-what, it’s unlikely it’ll be out before 2021, if not later.

In the meantime, have fun fantasizing about what an Åkerfeldt-scored crime series might be like. And we’ll let you know when this thing gets a release date, natch.
