Insane Clown Posse Says Sharon Osbourne Owes Them $50,000

Here’s a funny story: in 1999, Sharon Osbourne and the Insane Clown Posse’s Violent J (that’s the one with hair) were both on The Howard Stern show, where they had a little squabble. The short version is, Osbourne bet Violent J $50,000 ICP’s next albums, the duology Bizzar / Bizaar, wouldn’t sell 200,000 copies, and would, in fact, lead to the clown-faced rappers being dropped from their label, which, at that time, was Island Records.

Alas, Osbourne’s prediction was dead wrong: Bizzar / Bizaar, released in October of 2000, went on to sell a combined 400,000 units. Which means that Sharon owes ICP fifty grand.

But — SHOCK OF SHOCKS! — in a new interview with Loudwire, Violent J reveals that Osbourne never paid up:

“She lost that bet super hard. That record went gold. She, without question, owes us that money. We said, ‘You ain’t gotta pay us. Just pay it to a charity in our name.’ Because if it would’ve went the other way around, I bet you they would’ve been calling us out saying when are we gonna pay?”

Shaggy 2 Dope (that’s the one with no hair) then added, “What do you expect from someone who’s a liar anyhow?”

I can’t imagine Sharon is losing sleep over being called out by these (literal) clowns, but it’s hard to deny ICP’s point: she did lose a bet fair and square, and she should donate that money to charity. Especially now, when the world needs charity more than ever, and Ozzy is selling coronavirus-themed merch but not giving anything back to coronavirus-themed non-profit groups. The Osbourne family is worth hundreds of millions of dollars; surely they can afford to give $50K to a goddamn food bank.
