This New Song From the Dillinger Escape Plan’s Ben Weinman + Empty Streets Might Cause a “Fracas”

Fun fact: when I first saw The PRP headline “Ben Weinman (Ex-The Dillinger Escape Plan, Etc.) Debuts Video For ‘Fracas’ With Empty Streets,” I thought the video had empty streets. I did not understand why this was headline-worthy. Because of the pandemic? Maybe the footage was especially haunting?

But no. Empty Streets, it turns out, is the solo project of musician Aaron Thompson. So. There ya go.

ANYWAY, “Fracas” was previously available only to supporters of Weinman’s Patreon, but can now be enjoyed by all of us thanks to the below music video, which was created by Oleg Rooz, and doesn’t feature any streets, empty or otherwise. I gotta say, I love this song… it’s not very Dillinger-y (in the traditional sense at least), but it is very, very good.

All proceeds from the single will go directly to Party Smasher Sanctuary, the New Jersey animal sanctuary founded by Weinman and his wife that currently houses over 75 rescued animals, including goats, sheep, chickens, pigs, horses, turkeys and ducks.
