In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their third full-length album, The Crusher,’ Amon Amarth have released a special, re-recorded version of the track “Masters Of War.”

Frontman Johan Hegg shares:

“Celebrating the 20th anniversary of ‘The Crusher’ album, we felt we wanted to re-record one of the main songs from the album and put a bit of a modern Amon Amarth touch on it. Enjoy!”

To coincide with the release, the band have also announced the release of a special edition Masters Of War merch collection exclusively available from the band’s store at Victorious Merch.

We’ve long poo-pooed bands re-recording classic albums here at MetalSucks, but I don’t have any gripes with revisiting a single song as both a way for the current lineup (which has changed quite a bit since 2001) to have some fun and as an excuse to generate some merch sales (especially during the pandemic). So jam the song below and then order some Amon Amarth swag at the link above, ya hear?
