These Arms Are Snakes are Teasing a Reunion

Seminal post-hardcore band These Arms Are Snakes are up to something. The defunct group, who last released music in 2008 and called it quits in 2009, have a newly minted Instagram account with a series of posts that allude to some upcoming activity.

It’s been a long time since These Arms Are Snakes were active (bassist Ryan Cook has stayed busy in Russian Circles and Sumac; the other members have remained quieter, or at least less visible). As is often the case when cult favorite bands reunite, I imagine the people that are stoked for it — like me — will be REALLY fuckin’ stoked for it, while the news will largely fly over the heads of younger music fans who weren’t around during the band’s heyday. And that’s fine, of course; I imagine that whatever these guys are plotting is mostly for their own satisfaction anyway! It’s gonna be a good time, and I sure hope I get to catch them live again (absolutely phenomenal live band).
