Within Temptation Release New Single “Shed My Skin” Featuring Annisokay
Guys, I kinda liked the last Within Temptation single, “The Purge,” and I think the new Within Temptation single, “Shed My Skin,” is even better. It’s like, I don’t even know what’s happening to me. Thank Dio my father didn’t live to see me like this. Just put me out to pasture already.
The uncomplicated explanation is that the track, which includes members of the German metalcore band Annisokay, is just, like, st00pid-catchy. It’s sounds like it should be rolling over the credits of a 1980s movie you used to see on TV all the time when you were a kid and thought was awesome but watched again for the first time as an adult recently and realized was actually pretty bad. I mean that as praise, mostly.
Says singer Sharon Den Adel of the track:
“‘Shed My Skin’ revolves around dealing with inevitable changes in life. It is about becoming the person we are meant to be, even if that means losing people we love, but have grown apart from. Real growth begins where comfort zones end and that’s exactly what the song is all about: if we don’t change, we don’t grow. If we don’t grow, we aren’t really living.”
She continues:
“We like to expand and broaden our horizon, and constantly find new music and bands that inspire us. Annisokay brings a refreshing sound to the table, which we absolutely love. We are super happy that these talented guys wanted to join forces with us for our new single!“
