Marc Rizzo Out of Soulfly for Good?

0

Evidence continues to suggest that guitarist Marc Rizzo has departed Soulfly after nearly twenty years with the band.

Yesterday, Soulfly announced that Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares will be playing with them on their upcoming tour — dates for which conflict with a solo tour Rizzo has booked. The Max Cavalera-fronted project’s announcement made no mention of Rizzo.

Now Lambgoat reports that the guitarist has officially launched a new band, Hail the Horns, with Static-X bassist Tony Campos — who, funny enough, has played in both Soulfly and Fear Factory — and drummer Christian “Opus” Lawrence, who also played with Rizzo in the band Dead by Wednesday. You can listen to their first single — a cover of Kiss’ “God of Thunder” — below.

Says Rizzo:

“I’m super excited to move foward with my solo project, Hail the Horns, and Revenge Beast!!! These last few years have been too much of a stress on my life and being home this past year focusing on my projects has been super healthy for me. Much love to all the fans and I can’t wait to hang with you guys after my shows and talk more in person!”

We’ll let you know when Soulfly finally comment on the situation.
