Corey Taylor to Release First Single From CMFT B-Sides Album On Friday, Says CMFT 2 Is “Ready to Go”

0

A million years ago in 2020, Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor released his solo album CMFT, which proved that while Corey was doing weird, aggressive things in Slipknot, he secretly wanted to be making LA radio rock. But now, it appears that our long national nightmare is far from over, as Corey has revealed that he has a B-sides album in the works full of covers and acoustic versions of his songs — and that the sequel to CMFT is on the way.

Speaking to personal confident Eddie Trunk over at SiriusXM (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Corey revealed that there’s a half-sequel of CMFT in the works as we speak:

“CMFT is putting out a B-sides album which has all the covers that we’ve done and some acoustic versions of some of the songs that are on…The first single will actually be February 11, and people will be able to download that. It’s our cover of On The Dark Side by John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band, which is one of the best rock tunes ever. It’s one of our favourites to play live…

“The CMFT B-sides will come out February 25. It’ll be available everywhere. We’re really stoked on that too.”

Not only that, but Corey has also revealed that a sequel to his solo effort is already in the works:

CMFT 2 is written, it’s demoed, it’s ready to go. Plus we’re constantly writing new stuff. So we’re gonna be in a great position, next year probably, to go in and record CMFT 2 and just be ready to kind of do that. But that’s obviously after Slipknot has kind of done its thing.”

So there you have it, friends — if you thought 2022 was finally going to be the year that shit gets better, you thought wrong, because Corey Taylor has got a song for you about a beautiful girl who needs to see past these bright Hollywood lights!

We’ll post about the cover on Friday.
