Better Lovers (Feat. Ex-Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die) Dropped a Surprise EP Overnight

0

Back in April, we were surprised to hear that a new band called Better Lovers had emerged that not only featured ex-Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato, but also Fit for an Autopsy‘s Will Putney and former Every Time I Die members Jordan Buckley, Clayton “Goose” Holyoak, and Stephen Micciche. We were also excited to hear how good their first single “30 Under 13” was. Now, this morning marks a moment of shock, as they surprised everyone with the stealth release of their debut EP, God Made Me An Animal.

Released just after midnight, the EP features four songs and serves as the band’s inaugural output via SharpTone Records. The band released a statement upon the EP’s release, stating that they were all extremely excited to pass this milestone as a band.

“Surprise! Our debut EP, God Made Me An Animal, is out now. Four eclectic and wildly fun songs we’ve been kicking around for what feels like forever, it’s great to finally have these out in the world. Let it happen to you. Hear all this and more on tour all Summer. The engine is turned on.”

With the EP’s release, Buckley said he was happy to see things move in a positive direction after so many difficulties in recent years, including the frustrating bullshit we all dealt with during the pandemic.

“Looking back, I’m so happy everything got me to where I am. The pandemic and the last few years made me hungrier and more grateful. This isn’t a hobby. This isn’t temporary. This is the next evolution for each of us. Greg and Will rejuvenated me and made me even more confident. Now, everybody needs to know we’re a wild animal that just broke out of the zoo—there’s no trying to put it back in the cage.”

So yeah. The EP is available on streaming services, with physical preorders currently taking place as we speak for various limited-edition vinyl variants.

If you’d like to catch the band live, be sure to hit ’em up at any of the following locations and dates.
