Nita Strauss Got Engaged at Her Record Release Party

0

Deep within today’s list of new releases, Alice Cooper guitarist Nita Strauss’ sophomore solo effort The Call of the Void was thrust into the world. For any artist, the chance to celebrate the release of a new album among friends, family, and fans is worth everything that led up to that point. But in Nita’s case, there was more in store for the blonde-haired shredder as her long-time boyfriend and drummer Josh Villalta took the opportunity to put a ring on it.

The proposal took place while the pair were at the record release party at Los Angeles’ Whisky-a-Go-Go. As is expected in today’s social media age, photos and videos of the moment were immediately shared on Facebook by Sumerian Records Vice President & Radio Promotions head Mike Jakubow. You can check out the post, along with photos and videos of the occasion, below.

“Nita Strauss Record Release Party …. more than that … it turned into an engagement party! Congrats @hurricanenita and @thejoshv on everything. Such an honor to share in your amazing moments. Truly.”

And while the release party likely took on a more personally fulfilling meaning, it’s important to remember that the album’s release was taking place at the exact same time. We’ve been covering Nita’s work for a while now and it always seems like she’s on top of the world when she’s got her guitar in hand. As a natural shredder, we firmly believe Nita’s a force of good for the genre, as her prowess and success proves that women are valued and belong in this crazy shit we call heavy metal.

As for The Call of the Void, it’s out now and features vocal performances by some of today’s bigger names, including: David Draiman, Lzzy Hale, Dorothy, Anders Friden, Alissa White-Gluz, Chris Motionless, Lilith Czar, and the immortal Alice Cooper.

So congratulations, Nita! May you and Josh have a wonderful life together full of love and music!
