Watch Vio-lence’s Phil Demmel Join Nita Strauss for a Pantera Cover

0

Fresh off the release of her second solo album The Call of the Void, Nita Strauss has been on tour spreading the word and kicking ass. The set of shows has already been an unforgettable one for the shredder, but during the tour’s stop in Sacramento last week, she called upon a friend to help rip through a cover of Pantera‘s classic track “Cowboys From Hell.”

Enter Vio-lence‘s Phil Demmel. Having had some free time after a couple stints as a stand in guitarist for Testament and Lamb of God in recent months, the ex-Machine Head guitarist joined Strauss at the July 5 show at Goldfield Trading Post in Sacramento, California. With Kasey Karlsen on vocals, her soon-to-be hubby and drummer Josh Villalta behind the kit, and the rest of the band in tow, the group straight up ran through the seminal groove metal hit.

You can check out the performance below, along with the rest of Strauss’ July 5 show. If you’re in the Texas area and want to catch Strauss’ show live with Lions at the Gate as the supporting act, be sure to get your ass to one of the shows listed below.

The Call of the Void was released this past Friday, July 7 via Sumerian Records. It’s available wherever you get your music.
