Trivium’s Paolo Gregoletto Needed Emergency Surgery, So Malevolence Bassist Josh Baines is Stepping In

0

It was supposed to be a normal European festival for Trivium, but it quickly became anything but. Yet thanks to some quick thinking and a little help from their friends, the band will be able to follow through with the tour, despite the fact that their bassist Paolo Gregoletto needed emergency surgery.

According to a social media post by the band, they’d just arrived in Germany to start their European run when Gregoletto reportedly started experiencing pain in his abdomen. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors performed emergency hernia surgery.

Rather than let that emergency completely derail their European tour, the band recruited Malevolence‘s four-stringer Josh Baines to fill in “for the next few shows” while Gregoletto recovers. According to the band, they’re expecting to reunite with their bassist in “a few days.”

We at MetalSucks would like to wish Gregoletto a speedy recovery to full health. Hernias are no fucking joke and can be excruciatingly painful, so it’s a good thing he got it treated as soon as the issue cropped up.
