Metallica’s Robert Trujillo Joined His Son Tye on Stage During Suicidal Tendencies Set

0

Over the weekend, Metallica finally hosted their second date in Arizona on September 9 after James Hetfield’s bout with COVID-19 forced the original date in Glendale to be postponed. And while Ice Nine Kills wasn’t able to join them for the show like originally announced, Suicidal Tendencies stepped up to fill in the spot.

Given the band’s connection to Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, who played with Suicidal Tendencies from 1989 to 1995, it only made sense that the bassist would join them on stage for a song. And that’s exactly what happened, as he hopped up on stage well before Metallica was set to play to play the 1983 track “I Saw Your Mommy…”

And while that would likely be a fun time regardless, it must have felt particularly special given the fact his son Tye Trujillo currently plays bass for the band. So attendees got to watch father and son jam out on one of the biggest stages in metal, which had to have been fucking cool.

You can check out the full clip below. Aside from their upcoming show at the Power Trip Festival, Metallica are taking a brief break before doing two more M72 dates this November. We’ve got the full list of dates for the rest of the year, along with their 2024 schedule, down below.
