Good Guy Dave Mustaine Stopped a Show to Have Aggressive Security Removed

You know, we like dumping on Megadeth frontman and apparent ex-Metallica member Dave Mustaine, but the dude seems like he’s alright when he’s not being a hard ass. Case and point is this incident involving overzealous security during the Megadeth show on September 27 at the Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington, Illinois.

As you can see in the video below, the band were in the middle of playing “Symphony of Destruction” when Mustaine noticed a guard apparently being overly aggressive with a concertgoer. After yelling at the guard in question to “fucking stop hitting that guy,” he stormed off to the side of the stage and before threatening to stop the show unless the personnel in question were removed from the building.

“I’m not gonna play anymore until those guys are escorted out of the building, so just hang on a second. That was so fuckin’ unnecessary. That was so fuckin’ unnecessary, you guys.

“You’re supposed to make… What’s on the back of your shirt? Safety? It should say, ‘No Fuckin Safety’, because you guys are punks, and you shouldn’t have fuckin hit that guy. Four of you on one guy. What a bunch of pussies… Get ’em out of here or I’m leaving. I don’t wanna fucking hear that they’re in the back. I want them out of here.”

This isn’t the first instance of someone working security at a metal show thinking they can use an attending fan as a punching bag and it won’t be the last. Still, it’s always awesome to see the artist sticking up for their fans. No one wants to go to a show to get manhandled by some barely-got-out-of-high-school muscle.

And come to think of it, I wouldn’t want to fuck around with Mustaine. Dude could probably kick my ass given all his training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
