Better Lovers’ Newly Announced ‘BLismass’ Show Sounds Oddly Familiar…
Halloween may still be weeks away, but that doesn’t mean bands can’t make like the country’s retail industry and begin looking to the holidays for upcoming events. Earlier today, Better Lovers announced a special “first annual holiday extravaganza” called BLissmass.
Slated to take place on December 8 in Buffalo, New York’s Town Ballroom, the show will feature opening acts It Dies Today, The Callous Daoboys, Greyhaven, and Spaced before Better Lovers takes the stage. It’s a holiday event like no other!
Except the fact that Every Time I Die — you know, that band 75% of Better Lovers is originally from — did a similar thing called ‘Tid The Season. In fact, the 2021 edition of ‘Tid The Season ended up being the metalcore band’s final show.
Hell, ex-ETID members Jordan Buckley, Will Putney, Stephen Micciche, and Clayton Holyoak aren’t even hiding it. If you try to go to the ‘Tid The Season webpage, it’s automatically redirected to the Blissmas show. At least they’re kinda open about it.
“We are proud to announce BLissmass! Our 1st annual holiday show/festival! We couldn’t be more excited to perform, host and welcome everyone to Buffalo in December once again. Being back on the road this year and talking to all of you, we realized how much this weekend means to everyone and it became a tradition that was dearly missed by many. This band had its first ever practice, songs written, and shows played, in Buffalo. This show is special to us, and it’s special to the city.
Regardless of the fact they’re going back to the well for a holiday show, the band is super stoked to put it on. They will also be hosting a toy drive for Toys For Tots and as such are encouraging attendees to donate a new, unwrapped toy in exchange for a free gift at the event’s merch table.
