Whether or not you get down to their particular brand of epic power metal, there is no denying that DragonForce are prolific and hard workers, as evidenced by their insane run of tour dates and the announcement of their ninth studio album, Warp Speed Warriors.

Set for release on March 15 via Napalm Records, the band released its first single and if you’re a video game nerd or aware of the Legend of Zelda series in the slightest, then “Power of the Triforce” will speak to you. According to guitarist Herman Li, the inspiration for the track came about from his own love of the video game series and its lore.

“We’re thrilled to unveil our latest track, a powerful homage inspired by one of our favorite video game franchises, Zelda! We’re eager for metal enthusiasts of all tastes to discover something special within its depths. Brace yourselves, as we’re gearing up to unleash this sonic adventure live during our upcoming tours!”

Speaking about the new record, Li said it’s been in the works for the last few years.

“After four years of creative incubation, we are beyond excited to release what we believe to be our most ambitious and grandiose record yet. This album showcases multiple facets of our artistic abilities, and we invite metal aficionados from every corner of the genre to discover something captivating within its layers. We can’t wait to share this chapter of our musical journey with you; it’s going to be EPIC!”

What should you expect with this new record? Pretty much everything you’d expect from a DragonForce album, with the surprising inclusion of a cover of Taylor Swift’s “Wildest Dreams.” The album was mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud at Mix Unlimited in Los Angeles with Sam Totman and Herman Li.

Warp Speed Warriors will be available on March 15 via Napalm Records, but you can preorder your copy today.

DragonForce are about to embark on a North American tour starting tomorrow in Mesa, Arizona that’s coming to an end in Los Angeles on November 19. Amaranthe, NanowaR of Steel and Edge of Paradise will provide support for that run.

The band also announced a 2024 European run of dates starting on February 21 in Hamburg, Germany and ending in London on March 24. In that run, they’ll be co-headlining with Amaranthe, as Infected Rain provides support for the run.
