Makes My Blood Dance Celebrate Vampires and Sex Workers in New Lyric Video

0

Just in time for Halloween, Brooklyn-based disco-metalers Makes My Blood Dance dropped a new, 50 Shades Of Gray-tinged lyric video for new single, “Knowin’ it Without Knowin’ Why.”

The noir-inspired, campy video celebrates sex workers and the stigma they face, but in an off-beat way that also involved vampires, because of course there are vampires. The band’s lead singer EVO said the song was directly in line with the band’s push to get fans moving.

“I’m always trying to patch my bleeding heart, dream big, and somehow level up in the process. MMBD’s mindset is to put out music that is fresh and invigorating, that gets your blood pumping (and dancing…grin).”

Early on in their career, MMBD usually got described as disco-metal, but they also pride themselves on incorporating elements of synth-wave and cyberpunk to their recent sound. Ultimately, the sound they put out is full of huge guitars, catchy hooks, and driving rhythms with synths and a fun disco-like vibe to round things out.

And remember, kiddies… Sex work is real work.

Catch MMBD on tour later this month and two days in December as they bring their Nightmare Before Christmas Tour to the U.S. for five select dates. You can find the full list of tour dates below.
