There are few tours that immediately scream “dad rock” louder than the one that was just announced this morning, as ex-Van Halen singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar revealed a 28-date tour with some pretty big names in rock.

Slated to kick off on July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida and coming to an end on August 31 in St. Louis, Missouri, “The Best Of All Worlds” tour will return after two decades. This go around, it will feature Hagar and fellow former Van Halen members Michael Anthony (bass, backing vocals) and Jason Bonham (drums). Joining the trio will be none other than world-renowned guitarist Joe Satriani, effectively completing the quartet of perfect dad rock energy.

Hagar said he was stoked to head out on the road with those guys, especially given the fact that he’d shared the stage with at least two of them for some of the most important moments of his career.

“It’s crazy to think that it’ll be 20 years since Mikey and I played these songs with Van Halen on the 04′ ‘Best Of Both Worlds’ tour. With Joe on board, we can take a deeper dive into those years. We’re going to touch on some hits from my entire career but seeing fans old and new really embrace the new collection set off something in Mikey and I. We were at my Birthday Bash in Cabo for my 76th and looked at each other and high fived, like ‘let’s do it.’ We pulled out a couple of them and it was an instant lovefest with the fans from our first riffs. The music we created is going to outlive us all. They deserve to be heard so it’s time we go out and serve the fans that music, while we still can.”

In addition to the aforementioned foursome, 80s rock outfit Waterboy — you know, that Canadian band that penned “Working For The Weekend.” Yes, that one.
