Blackbraid is Working on the Next Record

0

Native American black metal is about to get another infusion of epic and massive tunes, as Blackbraid vocalist Sgah’gahsowáh announced via social media that a new record is in the works.

News of his efforts came in his first post to Instagram in a while, in which he said he needed to use some time off this winter to refocus and begin the writing process for Blackbraid III, the follow up to the band’s 2023 aptly named Blackbraid II.

“I realize it has been several weeks since I posted on this account which is unusual for me. Rest assured the silence is a temporary but necessary one. The solitude of winter has always been an integral part of my writing and this year is no different.

“That being said it should not surprise you that I have recently begun work on a third full length, Blackbraid III. The details of this release are still largely unknown and there is much work to be done in the coming months, just know that my lack of social media presence during the writing process is a necessary one.

“As the winter wanes on I will make more updates on the new album as the process progresses. As always, thank you all for your endless support, I promise this is only the beginning.”

Though there’s no real information about the new album — particularly since the whole thing is still being worked on — we may still be a ways out from hearing any concrete tunes, let alone have any idea of when it will be released.

If the melodic black metal band’s last couple of releases are to be the blueprint for Blackbraid III, this is very likely going to be another stellar release. After all, black metal isn’t just for pasty white dudes from Scandinavia.
