Cognitive Announce North American Tour with Trenchlung
New Jersey fuckin’ represent! Death metal outfit Cognitive announced today that they’ll be heading on a headlining North American tour with Trenchlung. If you’ve thought the Garden State was nothing but oil refineries and failed casinos, you’ve got another thing coming — it’s also the home of some killer fuckin’ death metal and the rest of the country will finally understand that.
The tour will kick off on March 28 in Brooklyn, New York and come to a close in Corning, New York on April 5. On the way, the tour will spend a majority of its time in Canada, with stops in: Serbrooke, Quebec; Montreal; Hamilton, Ontario; St. Catharines, Ontario; and Toronto, Ontario.
With a new, though as of yet unannounced album on the way, guitarist Rob Wharton revealed that the band plans to play two new tracks on this headlining run.
“At last! After finishing our tour cycle for our last release, we had taken some time off to record our new Metal Blade album, music videos, content, recharge our batteries, and now it’s time to hit the road again. We wanted to hit the road when our new single drops, so we figured we would make our way up to Canada for the special occasion and take our dissonant pals in Trenchlung out for a small run of shows. We will be playing two new songs off our upcoming record, so we figured it was time to get our feet wet again in preparation for the rest of the year’s tour plans. We hope to see you at a show, and keep your eyes and ears peeled for the new album announcement!!”
We’ve already heard one new track with the previous release of “Rot Eternal.” At the time of its release, the band said that track was actually the “second song written for our upcoming album.”
The newly announced dates are in addition to a number of shows scheduled for various locations in Europe, with the dates starting on May 3 in Hamburg, Germany and coming to an end on May 18 in Arnhern, Netherlands.
