It’s been a long time coming, and we may have already heard a track or two in recent months, but progressive death metal outfit Dååth have finally announced that they’ve got a new album coming on May 3. Dubbed The Deceivers, this slate of nine new tracks includes some exciting guest spots from some of the scene’s best guitarists out there.

For this new record, the band is comprised of founder/guitarist Eyal Levi, vocalist Sean Zatorsky, Kerim “Krimh” Lechner on drums, Jesse Zuretti on orchestration and guitar, Rafael Trujillo on lead guitar, and David Marvuglio on bass.

Additionally, the album will feature some extra guitar work from the likes of: Jeff Loomis (Nevermore, Arch Enemy), Mark Holcomb (Periphery), Dean Lamb (Archspire), Per Nilsson (Scar Symmetry, Meshuggah), Spiro Dussias (Platonist), and Dan Sugarman (Ice Nine Kills). The album will also feature sound design and synth from Doom game composer Mick Gordon.,” The Deceivers’ first official single. Featuring Sugarman, the track is pretty fuckin’ good. Speaking of the track, Zuretti said “Hex Unending” was the band’s idea of bringing everything metal has to offer and distilling it into one track.

“‘Hex Unending’ is a track that combines all of the many eras of metal music at its peak — there’s catchiness, groove, power, virtuosity, and uncommon creativity coursing through its veins. It’s the sound of 2024 — it’s perfectly polished yet organic, it’s modern arrangement and composition leads you on unexpected paths — if we were to bet, this track will propel true metal back into the forefront of heavy music.”

The Deceivers will be released on May 3, via Metal Blade Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
