Powerwolf’s Next Album Wake Up The Wicked Coming This July

0

It was a little over a month ago that we learned German power metal outfit Powerwolf was done recording their follow up to 2021’s Call Of The Wild, but today marks the official reveal of Wake Up The Wicked. Set for release on July 26 via Napalm Records, Wake Up The Wicked will ostensibly be stuffed full of what should be 11 epic tunes.

If I sound a little unsure, that’s because the band opted to announce the album without also releasing a single, which is pretty uncommon these days. Yet given the fact they’ve been doing their thing since 2003, it’s pretty safe to assume that they won’t deviate too much from their wheelhouse.

Though they’ve been a major player out in Europe over the years, they’ve only begun making their major push into the North American audience. Last year saw them sell out some shows here in the States and Canada and they recently announced a more comprehensive North American tour that’s supposed to kick off this August with Unleash The Archers.

As for the new record, it will be available in a number of different formats, with some including a bonus live album, Manhattan Metal Mass – Live in New York City. As you can probably guess from the title, it features recordings from last year’s sold out New York City show. Other formats include a popup gatefold, special posters, even a sick looking bust.

Wake Up The Wicked will be released on July 26 via Napalm Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
