Some Asshole Stole Jerry Cantrell’s Classic “Blue Dress” Guitar

0

A real shitty thing happened to Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell over the weekend, but if you’re able to help rectify the situation, you might just be handsomely rewarded. All you gotta do is track down a super rare guitar, get possession of it, and then bring it back to the man himself (or realistically one of his reps).

Or if you’re the fuckface that stole his original “Blue Dress” G&L guitar right out of his car, then stop being an asshole and just give it back.

According to a social media post on all the various platforms, Cantrell revealed that the guitar in question was either stolen in Los Angeles or the San Bernardino/Highland area. Knowing California, that’s probably a massive search area — that state’s huge.

In all seriousness, if you happen to come across a sick looking G&L guitar that looks like the one pictured above and has a matching serial number of G016467, then you’ve got Cantrell’s guitar. As you can read in his tweet below, you should reach out to the included contact email to get the whole return process started.

This isn’t the first time that Cantrell’s had a guitar swiped. He once had a guitar gifted to him by Eddie Van Halen stolen while recording Degradation Trip, but it eventually got it back during the Alice in Chains tour in support of Rainier Fog. For context, Degradation Trip came out in 2002 and Rainier Fog came out in 2018, so it was a looong wait until he got that guitar back. Hopefully he won’t have to wait as long to get this one back.

If you, or someone you know, has information on the guitar’s whereabouts, contact Cantrell’s people according to the following tweet.

Luckily, Cantrell’s still got a whole menagerie of guitars at his disposal, so he’ll be fine when he heads out on tour with Bush and Candlebox this summer. You can find the full list of tour dates below.
