Vended Have Their Eyes on the Future with New Single “Nihilism”

0

With a lengthy touring schedule coming up and things getting generally hot for bands hailing from Des Moines, Iowa lately, Slipknot progeny Vended dropped another new single titled “Nihilism.”

As one of the new bands embracing that sort of nu metal aesthetic and sound, Vended continues to sound heavier than expected. The riffs are there, the drums hit hard, and vocalist Griffin Taylor is starting to sound less and less like his superstar father, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor. Couple the cool track with its accompanying music video featuring what looks like an homage to the heist video game Payday, and you’ve got a pretty cool drop from the young band.

Speaking of the track, the band say “Nihilism” is about the band’s forward trajectory.

“This song represents the momentum for what’s to come, continuing with the energy from our last single. It brings that same energy and pushes the limit even more. The whole meaning of the track is to not fear what doesn’t really matter, so do what YOU want and not what you think will hold you back.”

Starting today, the band will be touring Europe and the U.K., with tonight’s show taking place in Warsaw, Poland. That run will end on June 2 in Reading, U.K. Then they’ll be cooling their heels until they get back out there to join Knocked Loose as a supporting act for part of Slipknot’s 25th anniversary run through the U.S.
