Castrator’s New Album ‘Coronation of the Grotesque’ Coming This August
It only took three years, the internationally-based all-female death metal outfit Castrator is back to announce their sophomore full-length effort Coronation of the Grotesque is set to be released on August 15 via Dark Descent Records.
Not to fumble the moment, they also released the latest single from the album, “Covenant of Deceit” and its accompanying music video. Speaking of the album itself, Castrator co-founder and drummer Carolina Perez said the new slate of tunes marked a giant step in the right direction for the band.
“We see it as a leap forward. It’s by far the strongest work we’ve done to date. Writing Coronation of the Grotesque was an incredibly enjoyable experience, and everything seemed to come together much more naturally this time. While the album still retains elements of who we were as a band, it’s much more refined, cohesive, and brutal.”
As for the band internally, Coronation of the Grotesque will be the first album to feature new guitarist Sara Loerlein. Perez had nothing but praise for the new member.
“Sara has been fantastic. She’s incredibly professional, brings a ton of new ideas, and her experience really shines through. She’s added a fresh dynamic to the band, and her guitar leads are absolutely killer! We’re really excited to have her as part of the band.”
Coronation of the Grotesque will be released on August 15 via Dark Descent Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
