You’ll Have to Dress Your Best to Attend Queens Of The Stone Age’s ‘Catacombs Tour’

I know it may be a lot to ask for some of you, but if you want to catch Queens Of The Stone Age playing reimagined versions of their tunes in the intimate settings of some of North America’s most historic theaters, you’re going to need to get some dress clothes, wash behind your ears, and look your best. At least, that’s what they’re encouraging for the ‘Catacombs Tour’.

Set to kick off on October 2 in the Chicago Theatre in Chicago and coming to a close at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans on November 21, the tour will be largely inspired by the band’s most recent release Alive in the Catacombs. In that EP, the band recorded a handful of songs in the famous catacombs of Paris. And now they’re going to draw on that experience to perform “reimagined versions that promise to twist the volume knob in both directions.”

According to the band, the songs will be “enhanced by assembled ensembles,” which makes me think they may play with local, classical musicians. That may not be the case, but that would be damn cool if that ends up being the case. Who knows? What we do know is the band suggests the end result will be “a precious few unique and intimate performances unlike any previous QOTSA tour.”

Tickets for the tour will go on sale this Friday, June 27 at 10 a.m. local time. You can find the full list of dates below.
