Listen, I get you enjoy brutal, gruesome blackened speed metal, but hear me out. I know Sadistic Force is right up your alley, but maybe listen to their new single “Portrait of Torment” on your headphones. Blast that shit in the car and piss off your neighbors until the cops show up. But if you’re in good company or in the office right now… maybe wait until you’re at home or in the crapper on company time to watch the video. It’s not for common company.

With their new EP Morbid Odyssey coming out on August 22, Sadistic Force is out here peddling what they call their “high-octane resurrection of metal’s golden era.” With their focus on blisteringly fast playing, loud as fuck soundscapes, and pure, unadulterated energy you can tell these guys would easily fit in with some of the genre’s more brutal forefathers.

Speaking of the single itself, Sadistic Force explain how they got Electrocutioner’s Mark Pursino to contribute to the track.

“The synth intro to ‘Portrait Of Torment’ and the guitar solo were both performed by Mark Pursino from NYC thrash trio Electrocutioner. He based the feel of his contributions off the lyrics, which portray the twisted thoughts of a serial killer who believes that his victim’s mangled bodies are his canvas and he is an artist who creates beauty through murder. In typical Sadistic Force fashion, the song draws from a wide array of riff driven influences, from black metal to classic rock.”

Not one to be left out of the conversation, Pursino shared his thoughts on his contribution to “Portrait of Torment.”

“After reading the lyrics and hearing the demo, it reminded me of the novel Perfume, where a man with a supernatural sense of scent ends up murdering a girl who smelled the most beautiful. I just envisioned some distinguished gentleman chopping up some wonderful ladies and the synth intro is my imagining of what he listens to while he dissects them. I combined a mysterious arpeggio with some type of respirator/breathing tube sound effect to make it feel inhuman and disconnected. The solo actually came to me pretty fast. There’s a few changes in rhythm underneath it so I wanted to have different voices.”

So yeah, go ahead and check out the new track on your favorite digital streaming service or hit play on the music video below if you dare.

Morbid Odyssey will be released on August 22, but you can preorder your copy today.
