Imperial Triumphant to Headline ‘Jazz From Hell Festival’ with the Goldstar Metropole Orchestra
It’s not often we get to say things like “jazz festival” in a post here, so when Imperial Triumphant announced they were going to headline something called the ‘Jazz From Hell Festival’, you bet I’d take the time to talk about it.
Scheduled to take place on December 12 at New York City’s Le Poisson Rouge, the event is being described as three hours of music featuring the aforementioned avant-garde outfit and big band group Goldstar Metropole Orchestra.
Imperial Triumphant bassist/keyboardist Steve Blanco said the special event will see his band playing music from their entire discography.
“Imperial Triumphant drags the city’s underbelly into Le Poisson Rouge for Jazz From Hell — horns ablaze, brass dripping in decadence, a golden chaos where dissonance swings and the city trembles. This is Jazz from Hell dressed in gold and filth!”
