Bruce Dickinson Joined a Busker for a Cover of Judas Priest’s “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin'”

Imagine you’re just some dude playing guitar on a street corner and out of nowhere, some random tourist in casual street clothes walks up and begins singing with you. You’d probably be a little bothered by that, right? Now, what if in this scenario, the frumpy out-of-towner is none other than Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson? You’d probably give a different response.

Such was the case last week when the legendary vocalist came across a busker in New Orleans who was playing acoustic guitar and singing. Apparently, the Iron Maiden singer was walking about the city with his wife Leana Dolci while on his summer North American solo tour, when the guy started playing Judas Priest‘s “You’ve Got Another Thing Coming”, off their 1982 album Screaming For Vengeance.

In the clip below, which was apparently filmed by Dolci herself, you can hear Dickinson’s instantly recognizable voice tackling the classic tune. And though he fucks up the lyrics a little bit, the dude naturally sounds great. Makes me wonder what it would sound like if Dickinson had to fill in for Rob Halford for a show or something. I can’t imagine how songs like “Diamonds and Rust”, “The Sentinel”, or “Heading Out to the Highway” would sound with Dickinson behind the mic.

For now, this is the best we’re gonna get — a 27 second clip on YouTube.
