Rush Add Almost a Dozen More Shows to ’50 Something’ Tour
When the internet broke earlier this week as Rush announced they were reuniting to play a 50th anniversary tour, I’m sure many of you saw the limited number of dates and thought “well, that’s not gonna happen for me…” Surely tickets would sell out instantly and anyone looking to experience the prog band in all its glory would either be left out in the cold or forced to pay a scalper’s insane rates.
Well, it turns out that the dudes from Rush recognized how fast those tickets are going to sell and added 11 more dates to their itinerary. All they did wads add a couple more datessdme sign of things to come.
This time around, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will be playing with Jeff Beck’s drummer, Anika Nilles. Lee had this to say about her at the time of the announcement:
“Life is full of surprises, and we have been introduced to another remarkable person; an incredible drummer and musician who is adding another chapter to our story while continuing her own fascinating musical journey. Her name is Anika Nilles, and we could not be more excited to introduce her to our loyal and dedicated RUSH fanbase, whom, we know, will give her every chance to live up to that near impossible role. Before we hit the stage, we also hope to add another musician or two to expand our sound a wee bit and free up Alex and I, in order to show off some of our new fancy dance steps.”
Tickets won’t go on sale to the general public until Friday, October 17 at 12 p.m. local time in the U.S. and Canada and at 11 a.m. local for Mexico. There are various artist, credit card, and other pre-sales. Be sure to keep an eye out for those when you can.
