You Can Own That House That Was Jacked Up in Slipknot’s “Duality” Video
There’s memorabilia and then there’s memorabilia you can live in. That’s the crux of this story, as it turns out the house that Slipknot filmed their “Duality” video in is currently heading out onto the market.
According to a report by The Des Moines Register, the West Des Moines property will begin receiving bids this coming Tuesday, October 14. Located at 1050 16th Street, the three-bedroom home is currently valued at $336,400. It was foreclosed on this past January when the now former owners were unable to make a $141,404 back payment on their September 2005 mortgage.
The house, as I’m sure you remember, was the backdrop for the popular video, which saw dozens of teens descend upon the property while Slipknot “played” the aforementioned song. In the video, most of the home was met with destructive teens, as windows were smashed, walls were destroyed, and kids jumped on cars. Some people got lightly injured during filming.
This is the second time in a month that “Duality” has made headlines. Last month, it made the “Billions Club” on Spotify for amassing over one billion streams on the platform. It was the first time a Slipknot track hit met that watermark, joining the likes of Aerosmith’s “Dream On,” Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City,” and three Metallica singles: “Nothing Else Matters”, “Enter Sandman” and “Master Of Puppets.”
Given the nature of the American housing market, I’m sure that initial valuation of $336,400 will explode as desperate homebuyers try to outbid one another. Wouldn’t be shocked if the Slipknot affiliation causes the final price to skyrocket. I’m gonna have to keep an eye on this to see just how crazy it goes…
