Poppy Gets Into the Holiday Spirit with a Unique Rendition of WHAM!’s “Last Christmas”

There was a time when people used to celebrate the holidays in chronolocial order. The circuit at the end of each year was Halloween, which lead in to Thanksgiving, which eventually led into the big daddy of ’em all, Christmas (or whichever end of year holiday you choose to celebrate). Yet we live in a capitalist hellscape, so you know what that means — we gotta speed run to the holiday that gets people spending their hard earned cash.

Earlier today, the wildly eclectic artist known as Poppy decided to throw her hat in the Christmas ring way earlier than most with the release of her version of “Last Christmas.” It’s not a super close rendition of the song, mind you, but rather it has that electro-pop feel that one should expect from Poppy. In face, in sdtrue Poppy fashion, she’s taken WHAM’s arguably most popular song and made it her own.

So if you can stomach some Christmas music in October, you should definitely check this out. Poppy’s always a hell of a time.
