In Flames to Headline Göteborg Brinner Next August
A killer night of metal planned for deep into next summer was announced earlier this morning and if the planned bill with In Flames as the headliner doesn’t make you want to buy some airplane tickets to Sweden, I don’t know what will.
A teaser reel for the brand new, one-day festival was posted this past Friday, but today’s announcement is the first concrete info we’ve received for the show. Slated to take place in Frihamnen, Gothenburg on August 22, 2026, the Göteborg Brinner will feature the likes of Avatar, Dark Tranquillity, Raised Fist, Thrown, Napalm Death, Gaerea, and Múr.
For us non-Swedes, this show is the latest in In Flames’ series of festivals, following the same vein of Borgholm Brinner and Dalhalla Brinner. According to festival organizers, the event will transform the industrial harbor area of Frihamnen “into a metal paradise for one day only.”
Attendees must be at least 13 years old and the whole thing is apparently steeped in metal lore. Frihamnen used to host the Metaltown Festival, which was where In Flames allegedly played such a crazy show back in 2010 that the nearby bridge swayed, triggering alarms in the process.
Tickets will go on sale this Friday, November 14 at 12 p.m. Swedish time. You can find more information about purchasing a ticket here.
