Nikki Sixx Warns Stalkers He’s Strapped… In the Gun Way

Being a celebrity has gotta be hard. There’s no punchline there, I just think it’s gotta be annoying to worry about shit like press junkets and public appearances and psychotic fuckfaces trying to get as close to you as physically possible to do God knows what. Stalkers have affected plenty of famous people over the years, with some causing some seriously dangerous situations for the folks involved. And it’s that potential for danger that Mötley Crüe bassist and totally not using backing tracks dude Nikki Sixx stays strapped.

As in he has a gun.

In a recent exchange on Twitter, Sixx was asked by a fan why he doesn’t share photos of his family, specifically his daughter Ruby, on social media anymore. Sixx revealed that he stopped doing that over some very serious security issues that have cropped up over the years.

“Because we’ve been stalked and our family has been threatened multiple times the last few years. Some are in jail now but Ruby doesn’t need to be exposed to millions of people, mostly cool fans but she is more important to us than posting photos and from experience, it’s proven to not be safe for her.”

I know we dunk on the dude all the time, but that’s a sensible response. There are plenty of “mentally ill” poeple out there, as he put it, that could do some serious damage if they get too close.

As someone that’s had to worry about his family’s safety, Sixx said he’s personally taken steps to protect his family. Specifically, he’s got weapons on hand to deter any psycho killers from trying to get access to the rocker and his kin.

“We have strong law enforcement relationships (as well as lawyers who have put stalkers in jail) but we also live in Wyoming on private property and we are locked and loaded and know our rights to protect our family. Nothing in my life matters more than my family.”

Regardless of how you feel about Sixx or any other rock star out there, people have to realize that they’re just regular human beings at the end of the day. Leave them be and if you’re lucky/cool enough, maybe you’ll meet them under fair and safe circumstances. If not, just enjoy whatever it is you enjoy about said celebrity from a distance — or you might get shot.
