Myrkur is Trying to Be Denmark’s Eurovision Contestant with “Touch My Love and Die”
You guys know Eurovision, right? It’s that big music competition between predominantly European countries (though others like Israel and Australia can perform) that tends to make headlines out here in the states each year. Well, Danish Atmospheric Black/Post-Metal/Folk performer Myrkur is trying her hand at becoming her country’s contestant by performing her song “Touch My Love and Die” at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026.
Commissioned by Danish broadcasting company DR, the track sees Myrkur meld her metal, folk, and film score tendencies into one cohesive track. The song was recorded in Dolby Atmos with real musicians. (It’s sad to have to say that, but here we are.)
The result is a beautiful, multi-layered, multi-faceted track that reflects the changes that happened to Amalie Bruun (Myrkur) last year.
If she wins at Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026, she will go on to be Denmark’s Eurovision competitor, which is taking place in Vienna, Austria this May.
