MY PERSONAL FIVE FAVORITE KATAKLYSM ELEPHANTS MARCHING RIFFS

Kataklysm’s twentieth anniversary,  MetalSucks-presented tour with Origin, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Vital Remains, and Rose Funeral is now underway! You can get dates here. Since, as I stated in my recent interview with Kataklysm frontman Maurizio Iacono, I believe that this band writes AWESOME elephants marching riffs, I thought this would be an ideal time to count down my five favorites of said elephants marching riffs. Please keep in mind that I have no idea which, if any, of these songs the band is playing on the tour — this is really just my two cents.

And so…

5) “To the Throne of Sorrow” from Prevail (2008)

4) “Where the Enemy Sleeps” from Shadows & Dust (2002)

3) “As I Slither” from Serenity in Fire (2004)

2) “Crippled and Broken”from In the Arms of Devastation (2006)

1) “The Road to Devastation”from In the Arms of Devastation (2006)

Yes yes yes, in case it isn’t obvious, In the Arms of Devastation is my favorite Kataklysm album. Sue me.

So whadda ya think? Did I miss any? Weigh in with your opinion in the comments section below.
