circuitry are so originalThe National Society of Arts and Letters will bestow a special commendation for originality upon unsigned New Jersey band Circuitry, they announced today.

NSAL National President Catriona Tudor Erler had the following to say about this rare and prestigious honor:

“One question I hear often from musicians is, ‘What new ground is left to break?’ Music, it seems, is viewed by many to be the artistic equivalent of cartography: it’s all been done before. New Jersey’s Circuitry prove that this is not at all the case. Here is a band that defies comparison and flies in the face of everything we know about music. They are absolutely singular; it would be wholly impossible for even the least-educated ear to mistake them for any other band. The NSAL is proud to draw attention to these very special young men. We’re positive they will never be lost in a sea of same-sounding peers.”

In addition to a cash prize of five-thousand cents, the commendation comes with a VHS copy of the movie Zelig, a chunk of Silly Putty that has been pressed onto a Peanuts comic strip, and an endorsement from Xerox.
