Molly Hatchet Singer Phil McCormack Has Died

Phil McCormack, singer of southern rockers Molly Hatchet, has died at 58 years old, the band announced via Facebook yesterday. Phil replaced the band’s classic singer Danny Joe Brown in 1996 and performed on five albums.

“It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of our friend and band member, Phil McCormack. Our condolences and prayers go out to his family during this time of loss. Phil’s contributions to Molly Hatchet were heard around the world. He will be missed but never forgotten.”

No official cause of death has been revealed publicly, but Blabbermouth reports that radio station 102.7 WSNR has said it “looks like a heart attack.”
