Sons of Metallica, Guns N’ Roses and Stone Temple Pilots Members’ Band, Suspect208, Posts New Single, “All Black”

Last month brought news that the sons of three super-duper-mega-stars have teamed up in a new band called Suspect208, along with the band’s new single, “Long Awaited.” The band features in its ranks:

  • Noah Weiland, son of Stone Temple Pilots/Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland (vocals, 20 years old)
  • Tye Trujillo, son of Metallica’s Robert Trujillo, who you may remember from when he toured with Korn in 2017, at the ripe old age of twelve (bass, 16 years old)
  • London Hudson, son of Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash (drums, 18 years old)
  • Niko Tsangaris, whose father we think (but cannot confirm) does or used to co-manage Slash and/or Velvet Revolver (guitar, 18 years old)

Today we get “All Black,” the four-piece’s second single, along with a music video filmed at The Viper Room in Los Angeles. Like the first song from the group, the closest touchstone here is Contraband-era Velvet Revolver, although I’m feeling a bit of a pop-punk influence on this one, too.

Whether Suspect208 gain traction or not, I reckon, will ultimately come down to two things: 1) whether they can forge their own musical identity separate from that of their famous fathers, and 2) good songs. For what it’s worth, both boxes seem to have been checked for the first single in the eyes of fans to the tune of 800,000 streams, although how much of that is the curiosity factor based on the aforementioned dads is anyone’s guess.

Give “All Black” a listen and a watch below.
