Warning: Mötley Crüe is Apparently Playing a Small Show in New York Next Week

0

New York City’s crime rate will likely see a slight uptick next week when Mötley Crüe apparently assaults their legacy in broad daylight with a “secret show”. Not complacent enough to ruin your memory of the band in an arena setting, the guys are apparently sharing a concert flyer for a band called 1981 (the year they became a band, get it) that’s taking place on Monday, May 6 at The Bowery.

This isn’t the first time they opted to intimately soil your perception of them, though the last time they did it, it was under the fake band name Dogs Of War at The Underworld in London back in 2023. That name may sound familiar to you these days, as it’s the title for the lackluster track they dropped last week.

When they released their new single, the band also announced that they’d signed with Nashville-based record label Big Machine Records. At the time, they called it a major move for the band, with Vince Neil telling Classic Rock that he was great friends with the label’s CEO and that it was a great way to get the band on that entirely relevant platform — radio..

“It’s a great match for us. We’re good friends with [founder/CEO] Scott Borchetta, who put together the Nashville Outlaws album back in 2014. His company just knows radio, how to get it out there, how to get the right people listening.”

We’ll see if that move pans out, but for now, we’ll have to wait a week and see if Crüe will be able to put on a good show. Otherwise, we’ll know that it was just another case of winded performances mixed with pantomime bass playing, stock drumming, and killer guitar work.
