Mick Mars is Suing Mötley Crüe and Alleges Nikki Sixx Plays to a Pre-Recorded Track

Months after he announced he was done touring with Mötley Crüe, former guitarist Mick Mars is taking his long-time bandmates to court. It turns out he may have actually been kicked out of the band and had his tour profits dramatically slashed as a result.

Oh and he alleged that Nikki Sixx used pre-recorded bass tracks throughout the entirety of “The Stadium Tour.”

In a legal filing obtained by TMZ, Mars claims that while his ongoing battle with ankylosing spondylitis was a reason for him to stop touring, it didn’t mean he was willing to stop recording music with the band or occasionally join them on stage. Still, he claims that the band ultimately had a meeting and decided to kick him out of the band. For those keeping score, that means ex-Mötley Crüe vocalist John Corabi was right.

Not only that, but after he announced he was done touring, he alleges that the guys he spent a huge chunk of his life writing and playing music with for decades decided to cut his percentage of tour profits from 25% to 5%. And while that would be insulting enough, apparently the band’s legal team suggested he should be grateful even getting 5% since they felt he was owed nothing.

But here’s the particularly juicy and kinda personal side of the filing. Mars alleges that bassist Nikki Sixx became increasingly shitty by “gaslighting” him about his guitar skills getting worse over time. Mars revealed that’s a bunch of bullshit coming from the guy that apparently didn’t “play a single note on bass” during their most recent tour together.

That’s right — Carmine Appice was right, too. If what Mars says is accurate, Nikki joined Tommy Lee in using pre-recorded tracks while “performing” live.

This is sure to get messier as time goes on. Hurt feelings, missing wages, and decades of supposed friendship and camaraderie down the drain will surely feature prominently in this court case. Mötley Crüe are currently on tour at the moment with Mars’ replacement John 5, so we haven’t heard anything from the band yet in regards to this filing, but knowing those guys, it’ll probably be done in a post on Tommy Lee’s OnlyFans.
