House of Protection Drop New Single “I Need More Than This”
It’s been a whole year since ex-Fever 333 members Stephen Harrison and Aric Improta formed their power duo House of Protection. Otherwise referred to as a new genre-bending project weaving electronica with punk and fragments of hardcore.
Today, the band has shared their latest single “I Need More Than This,” alongside a music video ahead of their forthcoming EP Outrun You All, which will be released on May 23. The video was directed by Improta and Kevin Garcia. It features a dark blue color gradient and a vintage texture that gives it a slightly grungy, mid-2000s feel.
Speaking about the new release, House of Protection shared:
“‘I Need More Than This’ is us exploring a mood between really heavy/fast and slow/chill. We don’t really have a song like this so it was fun to push ourselves in this way.”
Today’s new release is the third track lifted from the band’s forthcoming EP, Outrun You All, following previous singles “Afterlife” and “Fire.” And if there’s any chance you didn’t like the previous songs, then we might have some bad news for you: you probably won’t like this new one either.
“I Need More Than This” teeters more towards the electronic side and is by far the band’s weakest track they’ve released yet.
