Sodom Look to the Past in New Single “Witchhunter”

What does a band with more than four decades of experience have that newer bands don’t? Well, other than a few gray hairs, it’s the benefit of history and time. For German thrash metal band Sodom, the music video for their new single “Witchhunter”.

Created by ex-Sodom guitar player Andy Brings, the video takes a step back to when Sodom were just a buncha youths looking to make their way in the metal world. From cheesy photo shoots to live performances, it’s all there. And of course, attention is paid to the man the song pays homage to, their fallen drummer Chris Witchunter.

The track, which you can check out below, is featured on their forthcoming album The Arsonist. Speaking of the new album, frontman Tom Angelripper said the album is pure, unadulterated thrash metal.

“No plastic! The difference in sound compared to today’s standard drum productions is amazing and has had a positive effect on all the instruments. Naturally, time and effort as well as costs were also higher, but we’re happy to fork out for a superior result.”
