Mors Principium Est Announce ‘Darkness Invisible’, First Single “Of Death” Streaming Now
Finnish melodic death metal outfit Mors Principium Est unveiled details about their upcoming album Darkness Invisible, which will be released this September via Perception, a division of Reigning Phoenix Music that they recently signed to. To mark the announcement and to give fans a little taste of what’s to come, they also released the album’s first single with the track “Of Death”.
As you can hear from the clip below, the track takes a bit to get warmed up, but once it kicks off it’s all gas and no brakes. Blast beats pound away while guitars deftly move between riffs, giving something for the bass to hang off of and the vocals to boom above. It’s a big sounding piece of music that’s equal parts brutal and epic.
Speaking of the band’s decision to sign with Perception, vocalist Ville Viljanen said the move to switch record labels was the right one for the band at the time.
“Joining Perception marks a powerful new chapter for us. We’re proud to be part of a label family that houses so many legendary titans. With their support, we’re ready to unleash our most furious, blistering and ambitious work yet. The future burns bright, shrouded in ‘Darkness Invisible‘.”
Similarly, label strategist Nils Wasko said the band’s signing was a big step for the label as well.
“Throughout their career, More Principium Est have kept impressing me and the rest of the metal world with solid melodic death of the faster kind. Although they’ve never been the most active live band, they succeed in growing their following with each of their releases what underlines the masterfulness of their craft additionally…and in this case, ‘[Of] Death’ is really just the beginning.
