Atreyu Aren’t Quite “Dead”, New Single Streaming Now
Over the last few days, Atreyu has been increasingly weird online. At first they completely wiped out their Instagram page and replaced it with a single black box and a caption that simply said “R.I.P.” Then there was the countdown to midnight and now we know what it was all about. They weren’t calling it quits, as many suggested. Instead, they were killing the past to make way for the band’s new future with their first new music in two years — “Dead”.
Marking their first new release in two years, this new song brings their signature sound and pushes it forward in an effort to “push the boundaries of metalcore while staying true” to the sound that got them such a strong following all these years later.
As for the song itself, the band had this to say about “Dead”.
“‘Dead’ asked the question I feel many ask. Do I matter? Would anyone actually notice if I was gone? Not speaking in the space of depression or suicidal thought, but more in the grand scheme of life. We all want and aspire to leave some sort of lasting legacy or impression, but do we really matter? I guess we all hope so.”
The single is currently available to listen to on popular sigital streaming platforms, but you can check it out in the clip below.
