Puscifer Release “Director’s Cut” of the Music Video for Their New Single “Pendulum”

0

Last week, the benevolent folks in Puscifer deigned it necessary to not only share the fact that they’ve got a new album titled Normal Isn’t coming out early next year, but they shared some new tunes. Fast-forward to today and they’ve dropped another song on our heads — this time it’s a song titled “Pendulum.”

Along with the song’s release was the dissemination of its music video. Or rather, the “director’s cut” of the video. It’s got a whole post-punk underground vibe that I’m really digging and introduces a new character named Bellendia Black. She’s described as “a shadowy figure draped in layers of flowing black fabrics, with skin pale as moonlight, fingers tipped with black lacquered nails, and an unmistakable aura of melancholic elegance.”

Speaking of the song, Maynard James Keenan said “Pendulum” reminds him of a past-time.

“The dramatic and romantic nature of this track induces a sonic sense memory that transports me back to the dark and moody dance floor of Club Iguana, Austin, TX, circa 1985. I can almost smell the clove cigarettes.”

Similarly, Mat Mitchel says the song “is a nod to the ‘80s dark underground,” while Carina Round described the song as featuring “gorgeous synths coiling around sweet, twisted melodies while the world burns.”

You can check out the track for yourself below. As for the band’s new album, Normal Isn’t will be released on February 6, but you can preorder your copy today. You can also catch the band live at any of the shows listed below.
