Integrity and Skarhead Surprisingly Team Up on “Devil Down”
Well, my flabber is truly gasted. Hardcore kids of the past might remember all the dumbass drama that’s been going on for years between Danny “Lord Ezec” Diablo of Skarhead and Dwid Hellion of Integrity. I don’t much want to get into the weeds of the bullshit, as it involves a shitty person who happened to be what brought Diablo and Hellion back together in the first place, Chubby Fresh of One Life Crew. That guy fuckin sucks.
I guess what doesn’t suck, though, is that Diablo and Hellion happened to reconnect over the past year over their disdain for that lame-o, as well as other things they manage to have in common. That’s now led us to this new Skarhead x Integrity split. Diablo describes it in a very Diablo way, as outlined in No Echo:
“We both hate that bitch ass n***a, Chubby Fresh. Dwid and I started talking online within the past year, making jokes about Chubby and then we started talking about life and music. I then hit up [Static Era Records owner] Jay Reason to reach out to him about doing a split vinyl release on his label!
“Once Dwid said yes, I knew this release was gonna knock this world off its axis! The music, the art, and lyrics are straight fire, son! On both sides! I can’t wait for the release and to play shows with each other.”
The split contains one Skarhead track, one Integrity track, and their joint two-minute jaunt “Devil Down.” This might not be the only part of their reunion, as both parties have hinted at possible future ventures together.
Available for physical pre-order copies right now, the 12″ split comes out via Static Era Records. Where’s the beef? It’s buried now, that’s where.
