John Goblikon and Raptor Cover Ozzy’s “Changes” on Headbanger’s Boat

Jesus H. Since we lost Ozzy Osbourne earlier this year, anything involving him now is a harsh, violent pull at our heartstrings. Somehow, John Goblikon made it worse. Not because he said something stupid or butchered lyrics, but because that mf-er sang “Changes” like the rent was due. It happened yesterday during an Ozzy tribute on the Headbanger’s Boat, a cruise where you’re meant to, well, it’s in the name.

The stripped down performance of “Changes” allowed for emotion to be what ran the stage—it was only John and Raptor (keyboards and backing vocals in Nekrogoblikon) up there, which focused us on how empty we feel without Ozzy here anymore. I can try to describe it until the cows come home (do people even still say this?) but really, you’ve just got to see it for yourself. Check out their full performance of the song below, and grab the tissues.
