Poppy’s Next Album ‘Empty Hands’ Revealed, New Single “Bruised Sky” Streaming Now

0

Fresh off the success of her 2024 release Negative Spaces, metalcore starlet Poppy announced today that she’ll be dropping a fresh batch of new songs when her seventh studio effort Empty Hands on January 23 via Sumerian Records. To mark the occasion, the surrealist artist with a set of crazy pipes released the first official single from the new record, titled “Bruised Sky”.

As expected, the track flirts with both the melodic and brutal side of her sound. Poppy continues to peddle in equal parts industrial metal, metalcore, and pop. And don’t worry, fans of Poppy’s earlier works — apparently the new album harkens back to the more surreal periods of her career. As for “Bruised Sky” itself, it’s a sonic bruiser that was produced and co-written by Jordan Fish. Yes, that Jordan Fish.

It should be noted that this isn’t the first brand new song from Poppy in recent memory. She recently released the song “Unravel”, which kicked all kinds of ass. She was also involved in a Babymetal track “from me to u” and a blockbuster song “End Of You” featuring herself, Evanescence’s Amy Lee, and Spiritbox’s Courtnsssssey LaPlante. Oh and she released her own version of Wham!’s holiday staple “Last Christmas”

Empty Hands will be released on January 23 via Sumerian Records, but you can preorder your copy today. You can also catch her live at the dates below.
